Quitting a job is a normal part of growing and gaining work experience


There are multiple reasons why you might want to quit:

• Sports or extracurricular activities 

• Found something better 

• Going to college 

• Focusing on studies 

• Not the right job for you 


Whatever the reason, it is important to leave in a professional manner and give proper notice

1. Talk to your parents or a trusted adult to make sure quitting is the best course of action

2. If possible, you might want to consider asking for more or less hours or responsibilities 

3. Once you determine it is time to quit, plan to remain at work for the next two weeks

  1. Ask for a quick meeting:  

“Do you have a few minutes- I want to talk to you about something”

“I am able to work until (date), so that will be
